As the new Principal of Calistoga High School, I truly believe that our staff, students, and community are committed to success in academics, athletics, and co-curricular activities. This success happens because of our students’ strong work ethic, our caring and exceptional staff, and a very supportive community. Calistoga High School students experience success when they are committed to school, maintain good attendance, come prepared for class, and participate in school-wide activities.
Calistoga High School has a strong tradition of high academic achievement. Our graduates leave Calistoga High School college and career ready. We have an outstanding AVID and Advanced Placement program. This year we have introduced six new classes: Advanced Placement Spanish, Culinary Arts, Computer Science and Programming, Introduction to Construction, Journalism, and La Promesa Future Educators class. We also have a new College and Career Center that is staffed by Ms. Carla Suber, email@example.com.
Even though we have an open campus, our students are actively involved in ASB, and the numerous clubs on campus. This year we have three new clubs on campus, Interact, “S” club, and our Engineering club. The Interact and “S” clubs are service clubs that are generously supported by our local Rotary and Soroptimist organizations.
With the support of our Athletic Boosters and our new Athletic Director, Karen Yoder, our athletics are successfully thriving. To learn more about our program please visit our Calistoga Wildcats Athletic webpage: www.calistogaathletics.com
Our staff welcomes all parents to be involved in their child’s education here at Calistoga High School. Therefore, if you are looking for ways to get involved, volunteer, or be more active on our campus, please contact Ms. Maria Urzua via email, firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone, 707-942-6278.
Our staff firmly believes that every student can be successful and meet our school’s high expectations.
I’m honored to serve as the Principal of Calistoga High School, and I look forward to getting to know everyone who is involved in continuing the legacy of success here at Calistoga High School.
Senior High Principal
I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to redesign two, often neglected and misunderstood, schools in Calistoga, the Junior High School and Palisades Continuation School. My past experiences as an Oakland middle school redesign team leader and administrator will serve me well in my new role. I have a strong passion for both junior high school age students and students needing a new setting to re-engage in education.
Our vision is that Palisades’ students will take responsibility for their own learning, engage in designing the new Palisades and take risks knowing that learning occurs when overcoming barriers. Ms. McCoy, Palisades teacher, and I are tailoring the program to meet the goals of each individual student whether that is to return to Calistoga high school for graduation, graduate from Palisades, or prepare for and pass the CHSPE (high school proficiency test). Ms. McCoy has and will be partnering with many of the high school teachers to guarantee that students are prepared to return to CHS, as well as, local community organizations.
The Calistoga Junior High community is dedicated to creating an environment that supports the group as well as the individual. Students are most successful when the school community and learning environments work together purposefully, in unison. CJHS supports both the building of the school community and the building of lifelong learners.
I am looking forward to working with you and your student as we work toward a successful school year.
