Exploring Certificate & Associate Degree Opportunities

Community colleges throughout the State of California offer extraordinary opportunities for students to earn certificates of achievement, skill certificates, or associate degrees in various career fields. Here in Calistoga we are fortunate to have easy access to both Santa Rosa Junior College, and Napa Valley College.

SRJC CTE Program

"Santa Rosa Junior College is a fully accredited California Community College and all SRJC CTE programs award a certificate upon completion.Programs with 18 or more units of coursework prepare students for employment in a specific field and offer a CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT - most can be completed in 1 (one) or 2 (two) years. The Certificate of Achievement is intended to officially declare a student’s readiness to enter the career(s) associated with the certificate.

SRJC also offers a selection of SKILLS CERTIFICATES generally requiring fewer than 18 units of coursework. The Skills Certificates are designed to offer students a brief but intensive course of study preparing them for an entry-level job or for career advancement in a chosen field."

NVC CTE Programs

"Napa Valley College offers a wide variety of career training programs that prepare students for jobs in both the public and private sector.  Students may earn an Associates of Science Degree by completing both major and general education requirements, or they may earn a Certificate of Achievement or a Skills Certificate by satisfying course requirements specific to the major.  Details about degree and certificate requirements can be found in the current Napa Valley College Course Catalog.

All of our career training programs maintain the highest industry standards.   Many of our programs are certified by state and federal agencies as well as by respected industry associations.  Our instructors regularly attend updated skills training and collaborate with industry leaders to ensure programs meet today's needs on the job."
