Calistoga Junior/Senior High School

Internships provide an extraordinary opportunity for our Wildcat Scholars to gain hands-on experiences in careers that interest them, and once again our community has stepped up to provide these experiences, even through the challenges of the pandemic.

The S-Club and Soroptimist International of Calistoga partnered with the police department on an initiative they call, "Purses with a Purpose."

The 2021-22 CJSHS Yearbook class has chosen an outstanding theme for this year's yearbook and the finished product is sure to be one of the best yet!

They did it! The 2021 senior class was able to walk across the stage at the Calistoga Junior/Senior High School football field on Friday, June 11. After a year unlike any other, it was such a delight that graduation was able to be held in person.

CJSHS athletics are in full swing. The cross country team just wrapped up their season and got the Wildcats off to a great start. Julia Heth placed 1st in 4 out of her 5 races for the season. The swim team competed in their CMC Championship meet at the end of April, with senior Sabrina Wells dominating the pool. Tennis kicked off their first match against Tomales, and track & field competed in their first meet in Cloverdale.

Calistoga Junior/Senior High School first semester honor roll students were celebrated during the first week of February with a drive-thru certificate distribution event. Over 50 students in grades 7-12 were recognized for a 3.05-3.49 GPA, while over 150 were recognized for over a 3.5 GPA!

The junior high school restrooms have been completely renovated during the past two months while our students have been participating in virtual learning.

CJSHS had an amazing Homecoming Week! Kudos to Mr. Hartelt, Ms. Heck and our leadership students for organizing a week full of wonderful events.

For the first time, CJSHS participated in the annual Migrant Education Speech and Debate Team Competition. The team was coached by Cecilia Sanchez from Migrant Ed, and Aida Zepeda, junior high English and AVID teacher.

On Thursday, January 10, Calistoga High School senior Leisel Hernandez (left) was selected as Youth of the Year at the annual Boys and Girls Club event. Also honored was nominee Karen Villa-Torres (middle).

Our varsity volleyball team has been taking northern California by storm. They have made Calistoga history by not only being the first female team to play in an NCS Championship, they played and they WON!

Fall sports in Calistoga have been erupting with talent and excitement as we march forward into the post season. Our volleyball team plays tonight against St. Bernard's in Eureka, boys soccer plays this Saturday in Windsor against the winner of tonight's playoff game, and football rounded out the season 6-4.

On Friday, September 14, the Napa County Hispanic Network held it's 35th Annual Scholarship Gala at the Chardonnay Golf Club in American Canyon.

Students from the Junior/Senior High School registered for the 2018-19 school year the last few days, and orientation was held for our incoming 7th and 9th graders.
